“SARWA is a non-profit making Association. The purpose of the Association shall be to provide a forum and meeting point for specialist retailers and wholesalers of South African consumer products in the UK, and to facilitate the development of suitable business opportunities. The primary aims are:
In addition we offer advice to South African based suppliers and, where appropriate, introduce them to the SARWA members. Our association with the Consumer Goods Council of South Africa in Johannesburg, who represent all manufacturers and retailers in South Africa, has proved extremely fruitful in this regard. They have a thirty strong team in their Johannesburg offices available to answer SARWA members questions where relevant. We will be working with them in the future to offer South African suppliers a UK based address through SARWA in order to comply with EU legislation. There are regular meetings of SARWA members throughout the year. If you would like to receive an invitation to a general meeting or would like to become a member and require a membership form, or would like a copy of the full SARWA constitution, then please contact either the SARWA Chairman, Mike Miller at saproint@compuserve.com or the SARWA Secretary, Julia Holbrook at Julia@sawinesonline.co.uk .
SARWA is run on a day to day basis by an Executive Committee that is elected each year at the AGM. The Executive Committee currently consists of Mike Miller (Chairman), Craig Varney (Treasurer), Julia Holbrook (Secretary), Kevin Gallagher, Riaan Kruger, Jacob Mathopeng and Greg Miller.
